 R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited (Burnside) is a consulting engineering and environmental services firm, employing over 300 professional engineers, scientists, and administrative staff. In 1996, the firm expanded to include GIS and remote sensing professionals to better serve our client's needs.
Our GIS group has developed GIS software solutions such as Burnside GIS Tools, Land Use Manager, Notification Manager, Route Patrol Manager, Winter Patrol Manager, and Fleet Manager. With the Public Sector Accounting Board's new requirement for Canadian Municipalities to report on the depreciated value of all their assets, Burnside GIS team have developed a single spatial database that includes all municipal assets. The GIS group is currently expanding the Roads Asset Manager, capital planning tools to include all municipal assets that will further assist Municipalities in asset management and Capital Planning. The above GIS solutions assist small-to medium-sized municipalities manage legislation, showing compliance to regulations, and other important aspects of their day-to-day operations. Burnside became GIS business partners with ESRI, the largest GIS software company in the world to provide better services and solutions to our clients.
ESRI recently recognized our GIS products/solutions honouring Burnside with the 2008 ESRI International Business Partner of the Year Award. This award is given to recipients who have developed innovative GIS solutions that make a significant impact in the marketplace. |
